Chapter Philanthropy and Service

Philanthropy
Our chapter is extremely dedicated to our philanthropy Breast Cancer Awareness and Education. While we are always working toward our philanthropy, the month of October is a busy month for ZTA as it is Breast Cancer Awareness month. The first week of October every year is our Think Pink Week where we pass out pink ribbons on campus to raise awareness to our philanthropy. We also hold ZTA's most attended Greek philanthropy event, Zeta Round Up, where each fraternity and sorority create a dance and compete for bragging rights as ZTA Round Up Champions. In 2022, ZTA raised a record-setting $22,536.31 during our Think Pink Week. ZTA is also nationally teamed up with the NFL and our chapter gets to go to a Jaguar football game every October to pass out pink ribbons to fans and players. Each spring semester, ZTA's at UNF host our Crown Classic Flag Football Tournament. This year there were over 15 teams that participated including various sororities and fraternities from UNF, friends and families of ZTA sisters, and numerous other teams from throughout our community. Also, Zetas volunteer at the 26.2 with Donna marathon every February here in Jacksonville.  All proceeds from any of our philanthropy events are donated to the ZTA Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness and Education.

Service
The ZTA’s at UNF participate in numerous philanthropy events every year. Although our philanthropy of Breast Cancer Awareness and Education is of the utmost importance for our members, we also participate in many other service projects throughout the year that are not directly related to our philanthropy.  A few examples of these projects include cleaning UNF's campus, sending school supplies to local elementary schools, volunteering at the Jacksonville Humane Society, cleaning a highway we have adopted, visiting retirement homes, collecting prom dresses to donate to a local high school, and making bracelets and cards for breast cancer patients going through chemotherapy.
